H E A V Y

FUNDRAISER

Thanks to all those who brought their scrap metal to Heavy Metal Saturday on November 2nd at Thamesview United Church!  With all your donations and a lot of hard work to sort, load & deliver our scrap metal treasures, we raised a total of $1146.40 that day!  Well done everyone, but there’s more to come!  Our scrap metal drive will continue until the end of November.  You can take a load to Robson’s Scrap Metal in

St. Marys from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and tell them to add it to Thamesview’s total.  The fundraising committee still has several very large and heavy items in the neighbourhood to pick up and transport there in the coming days.  If you need help with your scrap metal, please contact one of the members of the fundraising committee listed below.  Finally, look for a special jar at church the next two Sundays!  You will have the opportunity to win a special prize if your guess of the total weight of the scrap metal in the huge Robson bin is the closest!  You can guess as many times as you want and the cost is only a dollar for each guess!  Let’s see if we can raise $2000 from our scrap metal by the end of the month!  We can do it!

THINKING AHEAD TO SPRING!

We know that it's still a ways away, but the Membership Committee is planning on holding a HUGE PLANT SALE in the spring of 2020!

Thinking of bringing in some of your perennials or annuals soon?  GREAT!

Because we'll be looking for all the donations we can get for the spring sale!

Keep those beautiful plants alive!

    Labyrinth Walks

Avondale United Church (194 Avondale Avenue, Stratford) – would like to invite you to come and explore a labyrinth. Labyrinths date back over 4,000 years and appear in many different cultures.  It is a walking tool for reflection. It can be seen as a metaphor for life.  Each walk will begin with a brief introduction followed by an opportunity to walk a 40-foot Chartres-style canvas labyrinth in Fellowship Hall. Tools to further your meditative experience will be available as well. If you are needing a place of peace and a time to pause amidst the busyness of life – come for one or all of the walks. All are welcome.
